Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1016-1DB41-ZX95 is a size S00 power contactor with a 24 V DC coil, rated for motor loads up to 5.5 kW at 690 V. It mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, with screw terminals for the main circuit. The front is IP20, so it's fine for enclosed panels but not washdown areas.
Ratings and what they mean for fit
The 24 V DC coil picks up at 85% of rated voltage (about 20.4 V) and holds at 110% (26.4 V), with a constant 3.3 W draw closing and holding — no AC inrush to worry about on your DC supply. Switching capacity: 10 A at AC-12 (resistive loads), 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 4.5 kW at 500 V or 5.5 kW at 690 V for motor duty. For AC-4 (frequent reversing or inching) at 400 V it's rated 8.5 A. The auxiliary contact is a single instantaneous N/O. The varistor surge suppressor is built in across the coil — no external snubber needed for standard inductive loads. Pollution degree 3 means it's rated for industrial environments with conductive dust or occasional condensation.
Mounting and integration
Size S00 footprint: 45 mm wide, 57.5 mm tall, 111 mm deep. Snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail or screws directly to a backplate. Side-by-side mounting is allowed with 6 mm spacing to adjacent devices for heat dissipation. Wire range: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²) solid/stranded — spring-cage not available, these are screw terminals.
Coordination and protection
For Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor after a short circuit), use a gL/gG fuse rated 20 A. For Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after a fault), a 35 A gL/gG fuse is permitted. The altitude rating is 2,000 m max; above that, derate per IEC 60947.
