The main circuit uses spring-loaded terminals accepting 2x (0.25 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire, which speeds wiring and avoids the torque-check step of screw terminals.
The AC-2 rating of 4 kW at 400 V covers wound-rotor motor applications where starting current is moderate. The AC-4 rating of 8.5 A at 400 V handles plugging and inching duty — the tougher switching condition for contactor life. For DC switching, it's rated 10 A at 24 V and 0.3 A at 220 V, which covers small solenoid and brake loads. For type of coordination 2 (fault protection with limited damage), the required fuse is gL/gG 20 A. For type 1 coordination (immediate replacement after fault), it's gL/gG 35 A. This lets the panel designer match the upstream protection to the acceptable downtime.
The front face carries IP20 finger protection; the terminals are also IP20.
