If your application is AC-3 (start/run), you interpolate between these; the AC-4 figure is the lower bound because it includes the most contact wear. Short-circuit coordination requires a gL/gG fuse: 20 A for Type 2 (no damage to the contactor), 35 A for Type 1 (contactor may need replacement after fault). This is a panel-builder spec — pick the fuse first, then confirm the contactor survives the let-through energy.
