SIRIUS S00 power contactor for panel builds
The Siemens 3RT1016-2AP01-ZX95 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S00, designed for switching motor loads in control panels. Its 45 mm width and 60 mm height fit standard DIN-rail enclosures; the 73 mm depth leaves room for wiring ducts and gland plates. Spring-loaded terminals on the main circuit accept 2x (0.25... 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded conductors, which speeds panel wiring and reduces loose-connection callbacks.
Ratings and what they mean for motor switching
Rated 4.5 kW at 500 V and 5.5 kW at 690 V, this contactor handles three-phase induction motors up to those power levels. Coordination and protection
For type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor after a short circuit), the required upstream fuse is gL/gG 20 A. Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after a fault) allows a 35 A gL/gG fuse. Pollution degree 3 means it's rated for industrial environments with conductive pollution — no conformal coating needed for most panel conditions. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, so it handles warm cabinet interiors near drives or transformers.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022. Side-by-side mounting is permitted with 6 mm spacing to adjacent devices. Front face is IP20, so finger-safe when installed in a closed panel; the terminal area is also IP20. Maximum operating altitude is 2,000 m without derating.
