SIRIUS S00 power contactor, 24 VDC coil — panel fit and ratings
The Siemens 3RT1016-2AP02-ZW95 is a SIRIUS-brand power contactor in the compact S00 frame size, built for switching motor and resistive loads in control panels. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, with a 45 mm width and 73 mm depth that leaves room for dense panel layouts — side-by-side mounting is permitted without derating for thermal accumulation at the listed ratings. The 24 VDC coil draws its holding current from a standard control supply; the contactor is rated for 10 A at 24 V DC (resistive), 2 A at 60 V DC, 1 A at 110 V DC, and 0.3 A at 220 V DC — useful for DC load switching in battery-backed or rectified circuits. For AC motor duty, the AC-2 rating at 400 V is 4 kW, and the AC-4 rating at 400 V is 8.5 A, covering frequent reversing or inching applications. Main circuit connections use spring-loaded terminals accepting 2x (0.25 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire, or 2x (24 to 14 AWG). The IP20 finger-safe protection on the front and terminals means it is suited for enclosed panel installation where incidental contact is prevented by the enclosure door.
Coordination and thermal limits
For type 1 coordination (no damage to the contactor after a short circuit, but it may need replacement), the recommended fuse is gL/gG 35 A. For type 2 coordination (contactor remains operational after a fault), use gL/gG 20 A. These fuse ratings govern the upstream protection sizing and should be matched to the available fault current on the line side. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C during operation, with a maximum altitude of 2 000 m without derating. The degree of pollution 3 rating means it tolerates conductive dust and humidity typical of industrial enclosures — no additional conformal coating required for most panel environments.
