Mounting & Integration
The 3RT1016-2BB42-ZX95: Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. Size S00 frame is 45 mm wide, 60 mm tall, 73 mm deep — that's a compact footprint for a 5.5 kW (690 V) contactor. Side-by-side mounting is allowed with 6 mm spacing; no derating needed for the main circuit. Spring terminals on the main circuit accept 2x (0.25... 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded, or 2x (24... 14) AWG. Pollution degree 3 means it's rated for industrial environments with conductive dust or condensation.
Ratings & Application
Rated for motor switching: 4.5 kW at 500 V, 5.5 kW at 690 V in AC-3 duty. AC-4 at 400 V handles 8.5 A for reversing or inching. Auxiliary contact ratings cover 24 VDC at 10 A, 60 V at 2 A, 110 V at 1 A, 220 V at 0.3 A. Mechanical life is 30 million operations typical — that's a long run for a conveyor or pump contactor. Coil holding power is a constant 3.3 W DC, so no thermal drift in the solenoid. Operating temperature range -25 to +60 °C, max altitude 2 000 m.
Coordination & Protection
Type 2 coordination (no damage to contactor) requires a gL/gG fuse rated 20 A; Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement) allows up to 35 A. That's the standard selectivity guidance for S00 frames — match the fuse to the downstream load, not the contactor's max rating.
