Panel-fit and termination
The 3RT1016-2MB41-0KT0 is a size S00 power contactor from the Siemens SIRIUS family, designed for screw and snap-on mounting onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. It occupies 45 mm width on the rail, with 73 mm depth and 60 mm height — a compact footprint for high-density control panels. Main circuit connections use spring-loaded terminals accepting 2x (0.25 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded wire, or 2x (24 to 14 AWG). The auxiliary contact block also terminates with spring-cage technology. Side-by-side mounting is permitted with 6 mm clearance at the side. Front and terminal protection is rated IP20 — suitable for enclosed panel use where tools are required for access. Pollution degree 3 classification means it tolerates conductive pollution in industrial atmospheres.
Motor duty and switching capability
Rated for AC-3 motor starting duty at 4 kW on 400 V, 4.5 kW at 500 V, and 5.5 kW at 690 V. The AC-3 rating governs the real-world motor switching capability — this contactor handles induction motor starts within those power bands without excessive contact wear. For inching or plugging duty (AC-4), the contactor is rated at 8.5 A at 400 V. Resistive load switching (AC-12) is rated up to 10 A maximum. The coil is 24 VDC with a closing and holding power of 1.4 W — a low-hold design that minimizes heat in the panel. Short-circuit coordination: Type 2 coordination requires a gL/gG fuse rated 20 A; Type 1 coordination allows up to 35 A gL/gG. The mechanical endurance is rated at 30 million operating cycles typical.
Auxiliary contact and environmental limits
One instantaneous auxiliary contact is built in, rated for switching at various voltages: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 6 A at 230 V, and 3 A at 400 V. These ratings cover both control circuit isolation and signal feedback. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C during operation. Maximum operating altitude is 2 000 m without derating. The reference code per DIN EN 81346-2 is Q (power switching device).
