Compared to the 3RT1017-1AP01 which uses a 230 VAC coil, this 1AD01 variant runs on 24 VDC — a common control voltage in PLC-driven panels and safety circuits. Panel wiring is identical; the same Size S00 footprint and screw terminals mean a straight swap without rewiring the power loop.
The screw terminals accept solid or stranded conductors: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²). For AWG, that translates to 2x (20–16), 2x (18–14), or 1x 12. Side-by-side mounting is permitted, so multiple contactors can pack tightly on the rail without derating.
For motor switching duty, the contactor is rated 5.5 kW at both 500 V and 690 V, and 5.5 kW at 400 V in AC-2 category.
