SIRIUS size S00 power contactor, 24 VDC coil
The Siemens 3RT1017-1AG11 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S00, rated for switching motor loads in control panels. Its 24 VDC coil is specified for a 0.8 to 1.1 x rated voltage hold range at 60 Hz, with a dropout threshold below 18 V typical for this class. The contactor carries AC-2 and AC-4 ratings at 400 V — 5.5 kW and 8.5 A respectively — so it handles moderate motor duty cycles like conveyors or pumps where frequent starts and reversals are expected. Mounting is screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, fitting a standard panel layout. The 45 mm width and 72 mm depth leave room for adjacent devices in a crowded enclosure. IP20 on the front and terminals means it is protected against finger contact but not washdown — suitable for clean, dry indoor cabinets.
Auxiliary contact ratings and wiring
The auxiliary contact block switches 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V — these are the maximum continuous currents for the control circuit, not the main power path. For the main circuit, screw terminals accept solid or stranded wire from 2x 0.5 to 1.5 mm², 2x 0.75 to 2.5 mm², or up to 2x 4 mm² (max). AWG equivalents are 2x 20–16, 2x 18–14, and 1x 12. The auxiliary terminals share the same wire range. Type 1 and Type 2 coordination fuse requirements are specified: Type 2 requires a gL/gG 20 A fuse; Type 1 requires 35 A. This matters for selectivity design — if the panel requires Type 2 coordination to minimize downstream damage on a fault, size the upstream protection accordingly.
