The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1017-1AG62 is a size S00 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil rated for 10 A at 24 V. It switches motor loads up to 5.5 kW at AC-2 duty on a 400 V line, and handles 8.5 A in AC-4 reversing or plugging service. The coil holds across the 0.85 to 1.1 x Us range at both 50 and 60 Hz, so it stays pulled in through typical line sags without dropping out. Snap it onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022 or screw-mount it — the 45 mm width and 57.5 mm height fit a standard panel layout. Side-by-side mounting is allowed with 6 mm clearance at the side, so you can gang multiple contactors in a motor control centre without losing IP20 finger protection on the front.
Terminal & Wiring
Main current circuit terminals are screw-type, accepting 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²) solid or stranded conductors. AWG equivalents: 2x (20 to 16), 2x (18 to 14), or 1x 12. Strip length and torque follow the standard S00 terminal spec — no special tooling needed.
Coordination & Protection
For Type 2 coordination (no weld under fault), use a gL/gG fuse rated 20 A. For Type 1 coordination (welding allowed but no fire risk), the fuse can go up to 35 A. The pollution degree is 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive that becomes conductive), so it's suited for industrial control panels without sealed enclosures.
