SIRIUS 3RT1017-1AH01 — Panel Fit and Motor Duty
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1017-1AH01 is a Size S00 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil, designed for screw and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. Its 45 mm width and 72 mm depth fit standard panel layouts, and the IP20 front protection suits enclosed control cabinets. Rated for motor duty at 5.5 kW at 400 V in AC-2 and AC-3 categories, it handles pump, fan, and conveyor loads within that power band. The AC-4 rating of 8.5 A at 400 V covers reversing or inching applications where the contactor switches under load. The 24 VDC coil draws 10 A at rated value, with a pickup/dropout range of 0.8–1.1 x Us at 50 Hz and 0.85–1.1 x Us at 60 Hz. Operating temperature spans -25 to +60 °C, and pollution degree 3 allows use in industrial environments with conductive contamination.
Coordination and Wiring
For Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor under short circuit), the required upstream fuse is gL/gG 20 A. Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after fault) allows a gL/gG 35 A fuse. The main circuit screw terminals accept 2x (0.5–1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75–2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75–4 mm²) solid/stranded conductors, with AWG equivalents 2x (20–16), 2x (18–14), and 1x 12. Side-by-side mounting is permitted with 6 mm spacing at the side, keeping the panel fill factor tight. The auxiliary contact block (1 N/O instantaneous) can be added on the front without increasing the DIN-rail footprint.
