The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1017-1AH01-ZX95 is a size S00 power contactor — the smallest frame in the SIRIUS contactor family, built for switching motor loads in control panels up to 5.5 kW at 400 V AC-3. The 24 VDC coil pulls in reliably; the DC switching ratings are given per voltage level — 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V — so you can size the contactor for DC load breaking, not just motor duty.
Mounting and panel fit
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. The S00 footprint is 45 mm wide, 57.5 mm tall, 72 mm deep — tight enough for dense panel layouts. Side-by-side mounting is allowed, so no mandatory spacing between contactors on the rail; keep 6 mm clearance at the side for airflow if derating is a concern. Front and terminal faces are IP20 finger-safe.
Termination and wiring
Screw-type terminals on the main current circuit accept 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or up to 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²) solid/stranded. AWG equivalents: 2x (20 to 16), 2x (18 to 14), or 1x 12. Strip length and torque are standard for S00 screw terminals — no special tooling needed.
Coordination and protection
For Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor under short circuit), the required upstream fuse is gL/gG 20 A. For Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after fault), the fuse can be gL/gG 35 A. The contactor is rated for pollution degree 3, so it's suited for industrial environments with conductive dust or humidity.
Environmental range
Operating ambient temperature spans -25 to +60 °C. Maximum operating altitude is 2,000 m without derating. The coil operating range is 0.8 to 1.1 × rated voltage at 50 Hz and 0.85 to 1.1 at 60 Hz — so at 24 V nominal, the coil holds in down to about 19.2 VDC and picks up reliably at 20.4 VDC.
