SIRIUS S00 power contactor, 24 VDC coil — panel fit and ratings
Siemens 3RT1017-1AU02 is a SIRIUS S00 power contactor with screw-type terminals and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm rail per DIN EN 50022. Rated operational current at 24 V DC is 10 A; at 60 V DC it drops to 2 A, at 110 V DC to 1 A, and at 220 V DC to 0.3 A — the DC load curve falls steeply with voltage, so the 24 V figure is the one that governs most control-circuit switching. For motor loads, AC-4 switching current at 400 V is rated 8.5 A, and motor power ratings reach 5.5 kW at 400 V (AC-2), 5.5 kW at 500 V, and 5.5 kW at 690 V. The S00 frame keeps the footprint compact at 45 mm wide, 57.5 mm high, and 72 mm deep — fits standard 45 mm-wide DIN-rail slots without crowding adjacent devices.
Termination and environmental ratings
Screw terminals accept 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²) solid/stranded; AWG equivalents are 2x (20–16), 2x (18–14), or 1x 12. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution typical in industrial panels), and maximum operating altitude 2 000 m. Front and terminal protection is IP20 — suitable for enclosed panel mounting; side clearance of 6 mm is required for side-by-side mounting, which is permitted.
