The front face and terminals are both rated IP20 — finger-safe, but not protected against water ingress, so it belongs inside a sealed enclosure in washdown or outdoor applications.
The AC-4 rating at 400 V is 8.5 A — this is the inching/plugging duty current, so if your application requires frequent reversing or jogging, that 8.5 A figure governs the contactor's thermal capacity, not the higher AC-3 or AC-1 numbers. The AC-12 operating current maximum is 10 A, which applies to resistive loads like heaters or control transformers. For DC switching, the contactor is rated 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V. These DC ratings are significantly lower than the AC values because DC arcs are harder to extinguish — the contact gap and arc chute are sized for AC commutation, so derate accordingly when switching DC loads.
Main circuit terminals are screw-type, accepting 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or a maximum of 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²) solid or stranded conductors. AWG equivalents are 2x (20 to 16), 2x (18 to 14), and 1x 12. The instantaneous contact (one auxiliary contact, not separately listed as NO/NC in the main contact count) is included for feedback or interlocking. The side clearance to adjacent metal parts is 6 mm, but side-by-side mounting with other SIRIUS contactors is permitted without additional spacing.
