S00 frame, 24 V DC coil, screw terminals
The Siemens 3RT1017-1AW21 is a SIRIUS S00 power contactor with a 24 V DC coil rated at 10 A. It mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022, making it a direct drop-in for any panel already built around the S00 footprint. Rated operating current hits 10 A at AC-12 (resistive loads) and 8.5 A at AC-4 (frequent starting/inching) at 400 V. Motor power ratings reach 5.5 kW at both 500 V and 690 V, covering a wide range of small motor and resistive load switching. Mechanical life is rated at 30 million operations, and the contactor handles ambient temperatures from -25 °C to +60 °C during operation. Pollution degree 3 means it's suited for industrial environments with conductive pollution.
Coordination and wiring
For Type 1 coordination (no damage but may need contact replacement after a fault) the required fuse is gL/gG 35 A. For Type 2 coordination (no damage, ready to restart) use a gL/gG 20 A fuse. This lets you match the protection scheme to your maintenance philosophy. Screw terminals accept solid or stranded conductors: 2x (0.5–1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75–2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75–4 mm²). AWG equivalents are 2x (20–16), 2x (18–14), or 1x 12. The IP20 finger-safe protection on the front and terminals means it's safe for open-panel work as long as the enclosure is locked.
