The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1017-1BB45 is a Size S00 power contactor with a 24 V DC coil, built for switching motor loads in control panels. Its 45 mm width and screw-and-snap-on mounting onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022 make it a direct drop-in for standard industrial enclosures.
Ratings and what they mean for fit
The 24 V DC coil pulls 3.3 W closing and holding power, so the control transformer or power supply needs to deliver that continuously — no inrush spike to size for, but the steady-state draw is constant. The contactor is rated 10 A at AC-12 (resistive) and 8.5 A at AC-4 at 400 V, which is the motor-switching duty cycle for reversing or plugging applications. For AC-2 at 400 V it carries 5.5 kW, covering slip-ring motor starts. Auxiliary contact ratings drop with voltage: 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, 0.3 A at 220 V DC. That DC curve matters if you're switching DC control loads — the 220 V DC rating of 0.3 A is the limit, not the AC rating.
Mounting and wiring
Snaps onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022; side-by-side mounting is allowed with 6 mm spacing to adjacent devices for heat dissipation. Screw terminals accept 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) stranded, max 2x 4 mm². AWG equivalents: 2x (20 to 16), 2x (18 to 14), 1x 12. Depth is 114 mm, height 57.5 mm — fits shallow enclosures.
