Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1017-1KB42 Power Contactor — S00 Frame, 24 V DC Coil
The Siemens 3RT1017-1KB42 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the compact S00 frame size, designed for switching motor loads in control panels. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, making it a direct fit for standard industrial enclosures. Rated for a 24 V DC coil, the contactor draws 2.3 W closing and holding power, with a varistor surge suppressor built in for coil transient protection. The main contacts are screw-type terminals accepting 2x (0.5–1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75–2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75–4 mm²) solid/stranded conductors. Switching capacity: 10 A at 24 V (AC-12), 8.5 A at 400 V in AC-4 duty (frequent starting/plugging), and 5.5 kW at 400 V in AC-2 (slip-ring motor) and at 500 V/690 V. For type coordination 2, the recommended fuse is gL/gG 20 A; for type 1, 35 A.

IP20 on the front and terminals — suitable for enclosed panel installation, not for washdown or outdoor exposure. Side-by-side mounting permitted with 6 mm clearance at the side. Dimensions: 45 mm width, 57.5 mm height, 72 mm depth. The S00 frame is one of the smallest in the SIRIUS contactor family, saving panel space while handling motor loads up to 5.5 kW at 400 V.
