SIRIUS S00 contactor, 24 VDC coil, 10 A — panel integration note
The Siemens 3RT1017-1WB42 is a SIRIUS size S00 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil, rated for 10 A in AC-12 duty. It snaps onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022 and uses screw-type terminals for the main circuit. The integrated varistor surge suppressor is built into the coil circuit — no external snubber needed for standard inductive loads. At 45 mm wide and 57.5 mm tall, it fits tightly packed control panels; side-by-side mounting is allowed with 6 mm spacing to adjacent devices.
Switching capability and coordination
For motor loads, the contactor is rated at 5.5 kW at 400 V and 690 V AC-3, and 8.5 A at 400 V AC-4 for reversing or inching duty. With type 2 coordination, use a gL/gG 20 A fuse upstream; type 1 coordination allows a 35 A fuse. The DC coil holds at 1.4 W, closing at 1.4 W — no holding-current drop. Pollution degree 3 suits industrial environments with conductive dust or humidity.
Wiring and auxiliary contacts
Main circuit terminals accept 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²) solid/stranded — AWG equivalents 2x (20-16), 2x (18-14), 1x 12. This unit ships with zero auxiliary contacts (instantaneous contact count: 0), so add a separate auxiliary contact block if feedback or status signaling is needed. IP20 on the front and terminals means finger-safe but not washdown-rated.
