The coil is wound for 24 V at 50 Hz, with an operating range of 0.8 to 1.1 times rated voltage at 50 Hz — meaning it pulls in reliably down to about 19.2 V and holds through line sags up to 26.4 V. Motor ratings: 4.5 kW at 500 V and 5.5 kW at 690 V. For AC-4 duty (plugging, inching) the rated operating current is 8.5 A at 400 V — that's the number to watch if the load sees frequent reversing or jogging, not the AC-3 thermal current.
Terminal and wiring constraints
Main-circuit terminals accept solid or stranded conductors: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²). AWG equivalents are 2x (16 to 12), 2x (14 to 10), 1x 8. The auxiliary contact block (2 instantaneous contacts) uses the same screw-clamp system. IP20 on the front face, IP00 at the terminals; keep live parts behind a panel door or finger-safe cover.
Fault coordination and environment
With Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after fault) the fuse can go up to 63 A gL/gG. Pollution degree 3 applies — suitable for industrial enclosures where conductive dust or condensation is present. Maximum operating altitude 2 000 m without derating. Mechanical endurance is 10 million operating cycles typical.
