The AC-12 maximum operating current of 10 A applies to resistive loads like heater banks or control transformers.
Auxiliary contact capacity
The built-in auxiliary contacts are rated for 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, and 3 A at 400 V. For DC switching, the ratings drop to 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V — typical for PLC inputs or signal lamps. Keep the DC voltage below 60 V for full 2 A capacity; above that, the arc extinguishes less efficiently.
Main power terminals accept solid conductors from 0.5 to 4 mm² (two per clamp) and stranded from 1 to 10 mm² (two per clamp). AWG equivalents are 2x 16–12 solid, 2x 14–10 stranded, and 1x 8. Mechanical life is 10 million cycles — the contactor itself is not the weak link in most duty cycles.
