The Siemens 3RT1024-1AG24-ZX95 is an S0-frame SIRIUS power contactor with a 24 V DC coil, screw-type terminals, and a 45 mm wide footprint. It mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, either snapped on or screwed, and supports side-by-side mounting without derating for the main circuit. The front face carries IP20 protection; the terminal area is rated IP00, meaning the wiring compartment is open to the enclosure environment.
Ratings and what they mean for your panel
For motor switching under AC-3 duty (the standard for squirrel-cage motors), the contactor is rated 7.5 kW at 400 V and also 7.5 kW at 690 V — the same power at both voltages because the current drops proportionally as voltage rises. That 7.5 kW at 690 V is the headline: it means this S0 frame can handle a 10 HP motor on a 480 V system or a 7.5 kW motor on a 690 V line. Under AC-4 duty (plugging/reversing/inching), the rated operating current is 12.5 A at 400 V. The built-in auxiliary contact block provides 1 NO + 1 NC instantaneous contact, rated 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, 3 A at 400 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V DC. The DC ratings are inductive — switching a 220 V DC solenoid or brake coil at 0.3 A is the limit; exceed it and the arc won't extinguish cleanly. Mechanical life is rated at 10 million operating cycles typical. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, with pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive that becomes conductive via condensation — standard for industrial control panels not in a clean room). Maximum operating altitude is 2 000 m without derating.
Coordination and wiring
The screw terminals accept solid or stranded copper: main contacts take 2x (1–2.5 mm²), 2x (2.5–6 mm²), or max 2x 10 mm² (AWG 16–12, 14–10, or 1x 8). Auxiliary contacts take 2x (0.5–1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75–2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75–4 mm²). For Type 2 coordination (no welding after a short circuit — the contactor remains usable), the required upstream fuse is gL/gG 25 A. For Type 1 coordination (contactor may be destroyed but the installation is safe), the fuse can be gL/gG 63 A. These are the manufacturer's specified limits for the S0 frame; the panel builder's short-circuit rating (SCCR) must be calculated against these fuse sizes.
