SIRIUS S0 power contactor — what the ratings mean for your panel
The Siemens 3RT1024-1AG60 is a SIRIUS S0-frame power contactor rated to switch motor loads up to 7.5 kW at 690 V (AC-3) and 7.5 kW at 500 V, with an AC-4 rated operational current of 12.5 A at 400 V — that's the reversing/plugging duty cycle, so it handles the inrush of a motor stopping under load without welding contacts. Snap it onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022 or screw-mount — the S0 frame footprint is 45 mm wide, 85 mm tall, 91 mm deep, leaving room for a 6 mm side clearance when ganged side-by-side. Front-of-device protection is IP20 (finger-safe), terminals are IP00 — fine inside a closed panel, but the wiring compartment needs guarding if the panel door is open live.
Coordination and wiring — what the fuse callouts mean
For Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor under short circuit), the evidence calls for a gL/gG fuse rated 25 A; for Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement but the circuit clears), a 63 A gL/gG fuse is specified. Main circuit screw terminals accept 2x (0.5–1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75–2.5 mm²), or up to 2x 4 mm² solid; for stranded, 2x (1–2.5 mm²), 2x (2.5–6 mm²), or max 2x 10 mm² — AWG equivalents 2x (16–12), 2x (14–10), or 1x 8. Pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive that becomes conductive due to condensation) — typical for industrial control panels not in a climate-controlled room.
Environmental range
Operating temperature spans -25 to +60 °C; maximum operating altitude 2,000 m without derating. Rated for 50/60 Hz supply with a voltage tolerance of 0.8–1.1 x rated at 50 Hz and 0.85–1.1 x rated at 60 Hz.
