The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1024-1AP00-1AA0 is a Size S0 power contactor with three normally-open main contacts and screw-type terminals, designed for screw and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022. Rated for AC-2 duty at 5.5 kW at 400 V, it handles slip-ring motor loads; the AC-4 rating of 12.5 A at 400 V covers plugging and inching duty cycles. The front face carries IP20 protection; the terminal area is IP00, so enclosure integration must account for live parts at the wiring zone.
Integration & Mounting
The 45 mm wide S0 frame occupies three DIN-rail pitches. Side-by-side mounting is permitted with 6 mm spacing to adjacent devices for heat dissipation. Screw terminals accept solid or stranded conductors: main contacts take 2x (0.5–1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75–2.5 mm²), or max. 2x (0.75–4 mm²); auxiliary circuits use 2x (1–2.5 mm²) or max. 2x 10 mm². AWG equivalents are 2x (16–12), 2x (14–10), or 1x 8 for the main circuit.
Coordination & Protection
For Type 1 coordination (no damage to the contactor after a short circuit) the required upstream fuse is gL/gG 63 A. For Type 2 coordination (contactor remains operational after a fault) the fuse is gL/gG 25 A. Pollution degree 3 rating means the contactor is suited for industrial environments with conductive pollution — typical for control panels without a clean-room air supply. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, with a maximum operating altitude of 2 000 m without derating.
