SIRIUS S0 Power Contactor — 3RT1024-1AV00
The Siemens 3RT1024-1AV00 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the S0 frame size, with three normally-open main contacts and screw-type terminals. It is designed for switching three-phase motor loads up to 7.5 kW at 500 V or 690 V, 50 Hz, per the datasheet ratings. Mounting is via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022, making it a direct fit for standard industrial control panels. The 45 mm width (3TE) occupies one slot in a typical panel layout. The contactor is rated for AC-4 duty at 12.5 A at 400 V, which governs switching of motor loads under inrush or plugging conditions — the more demanding duty cycle compared to AC-3. For type 2 coordination (no-weld), a 25 A gL/gG fuse is specified; type 1 coordination allows a 63 A fuse.
Termination and Wiring
Main circuit terminals accept solid or stranded conductors: 2x (0.5–1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75–2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75–4 mm²) for the control circuit; for the main contacts, 2x (1–2.5 mm²), 2x (2.5–6 mm²), or max 2x 10 mm². AWG equivalents are 2x (16–12), 2x (14–10), and 1x 8. The front of the contactor carries an IP20 rating (finger-safe), while the terminal area is rated IP00 — meaning the connection points require additional protection in the enclosure to prevent accidental contact.
Environmental and Installation Conditions
Operating temperature range is -25 °C to +60 °C during operation, with a maximum installation altitude of 2,000 m. Pollution degree 3 is specified. Side-by-side mounting is permitted without derating, with a 6 mm clearance required at the side for heat dissipation. The contactor is rated for 10 million mechanical operations typical.
