The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1024-3AL24-1AA0 is a size S0 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil, screw-type main circuit terminals, and a snap-on mount for 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. It's rated for AC-2 duty at 5.5 kW and AC-4 at 12.5 A, both at 400 V — that's the motor-switching curve you care about for reversing or jogging applications.
Coil and auxiliary contact ratings
The built-in instantaneous auxiliary contact handles 2 A at 60 VDC, 1 A at 110 VDC, and 0.3 A at 220 VDC. That's enough to signal a PLC input or drive a smaller relay.
For Type 1 coordination (no damage after a short circuit, but the contactor may need replacement), use a 63 A gL/gG fuse. For Type 2 coordination (contactor remains operational after a fault), step down to a 25 A gL/gG fuse. That's the selectivity call your panel designer needs to match the upstream breaker.
Screw terminals accept 2x (0.25 to 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded, up to 2x 10 mm² maximum. AWG equivalents: 2x (16 to 12), 2x (14 to 10), or 1x 8.
