What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1024-3XF00-0GA0 is a Size S0 power contactor with a built-in varistor surge suppressor across the coil. It switches motor loads up to 7.5 kW at both 500 V and 690 V, and carries a 10 A rated operational current at AC-12 (resistive) at 24 V. The screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept up to 2x 10 mm² or 1x 8 AWG conductors, making it straightforward to land in a panel without special tooling.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard rail per DIN EN 50022. The 45 mm width and 119 mm height fit a standard S0 footprint — leaves room for adjacent devices on the same rail. Side-by-side mounting is allowed, with 6 mm clearance to adjacent components on the side. Front protection is IP20; the terminal area itself is IP00, so keep live parts behind a panel door or cover.
Environmental and coordination
Rated for pollution degree 3 (industrial environments with conductive or dry non-conductive pollution). Operating temperature range -25 to +60 °C, with altitude limit 2 000 m. For Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor under short circuit), use a gL/gG fuse rated 25 A; for Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after fault), a 63 A gL/gG fuse is permitted.
