SIRIUS S0 power contactor, 24 VAC coil, screw terminals
The coil is rated for 24 V at both 50 Hz and 60 Hz, with an operating range of 0.8 to 1.1 times rated voltage at 50 Hz and 0.85 to 1.1 at 60 Hz. That means the coil pulls in reliably down to about 19.2 VAC and drops out below the minimum threshold — useful to know when sizing control transformers on a long cable run. At 500 V the motor rating reaches 10 kW, and at 690 V it reaches 11 kW. The main circuit uses screw-type terminals, accepting solid conductors from 2x 0.5 to 1.5 mm² up to 2x 0.75 to 4 mm², and stranded conductors from 2x 1 to 2.5 mm² up to 2x 10 mm². AWG equivalents are 2x 16 to 12 and 2x 14 to 10, with a single 8 AWG maximum. This covers common panel wiring sizes without needing adapters.
Side-by-side mounting is permitted with zero clearance between units, so a multi-contactor group fits in a 45 mm pitch per device. The depth is 91 mm, height 85 mm — check clearance behind the panel door or against rear-mounted busbars. The terminal area is rated IP00, so live parts are exposed when the terminals are open — standard for panel-mount contactors, but worth noting for live-work risk assessment.
Coordination and auxiliary contacts
For Type 2 coordination (contactor remains operational after a short circuit), the fuse is gL/gG 25 A. This matters when specifying upstream protection for a motor starter combination. The contactor carries 0 instantaneous auxiliary contacts as standard — the ZW98 option code may indicate a factory-fitted auxiliary block. The auxiliary contact ratings are: 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 6 A at 230 V, and 3 A at 400 V. These are the maximum switching currents per contact at the respective voltages. The AC-12 operating current maximum is 10 A, covering resistive loads at the control voltage.
