SIRIUS S0 power contactor for motor and resistive loads
The Siemens 3RT1025-1AN24-ZX95 is a SIRIUS S0-size power contactor, designed for switching motor loads and resistive circuits in industrial control panels. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022, fitting into a standard 45 mm wide slot — a common footprint for grouped contactor assemblies in a panel. Rated for 10 A at 24 V in AC-12 duty (resistive loads), the contactor also handles motor switching: 7.5 kW at 400 V in AC-2 (slip-ring motors) and 15.5 A at 400 V in AC-4 (plugging/inching duty). For higher-voltage applications, it delivers 10 kW at 500 V and 11 kW at 690 V, making it suitable for 400 V and 690 V line supplies common in European and Asian installations. The front face carries IP20 protection (finger-safe), while the terminal area is IP00 — so the panel enclosure provides the environmental seal. Operating temperature spans -25 to +60 °C, with a maximum installation altitude of 2 000 m. Pollution degree 3 rating means it's suited for industrial atmospheres with conductive dust or moisture, typical in factory-floor environments.
Coordination and terminal sizing
Screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept 2x (1... 2.5 mm²) solid or stranded, up to 2x 10 mm² maximum. The auxiliary/control circuit terminals accept 2x (0.5... 1.5 mm²) solid, 2x (0.75... 2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75... 4 mm²). This covers standard panel wiring from 1.5 mm² control cables up to 10 mm² power feeds. For Type 1 coordination (no damage to the contactor under short circuit, but may require contact replacement), use a gL/gG fuse rated 63 A. For Type 2 coordination (contactor remains operational after a fault), the fuse must be 25 A gL/gG. These values matter when designing the upstream protection for the motor branch circuit. Side-by-side mounting is permitted without derating, with a 6 mm clearance to adjacent devices. The 45 mm width and 85 mm height fit standard 4-module DIN-rail spacing, leaving room for auxiliary contact blocks or overload relays in the same row.
Lifecycle and sourcing
The ZX95 suffix indicates a customer-specific variant with a special packaging or documentation mark. Functionally identical to base order code 3RT1025-1AN24.
