Motor-load switching on a DIN-rail panel
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1026-1AK60-ZW96 is a size S0 power contactor rated 11 kW at 400 V in AC-2 duty — the category for slip-ring motor starting and reversing, where the contactor makes and breaks the load current at each operation. That 11 kW figure at 400 V is the rating that governs fit for a motor circuit; the contactor also carries 15.5 A in AC-4 (plugging/inching) duty, so it handles the higher electrical wear of frequent reversals. Screw-and-snap-on mounting onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022 means it integrates directly into a standard panel without adapters. Rated operating temperature spans -25 to +60 °C, sufficient for most enclosed industrial panels.
Coordination and terminal capacity
For Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor under a short-circuit) the spec calls for a gL/gG fuse rated 35 A. Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after a fault) allows a 100 A fuse. The main circuit screw terminals accept solid conductors from 2x 0.5 mm² up to max 2x 4 mm², and stranded from 2x 1 mm² up to max 2x 10 mm² — covers the typical motor-feeder wire sizes for an S0 frame.
Mounting and panel fit
Width is 45 mm, height 85 mm, depth 91 mm. Side-by-side mounting is permitted with zero clearance between units, so a multi-contactor group packs tightly on the rail. Front face carries IP20 protection — finger-safe when installed; the terminals themselves are rated IP00, so live parts are exposed until wired and shrouded.
