SIRIUS S0 power contactor — what it is and what it carries
The Siemens 3RT1026-1AK60-ZX95 is a SIRIUS S0-frame power contactor for switching motor loads in control panels. It is rated 11 kW at 400 V in AC-2 duty (slip-ring motors, wound-rotor applications) and 15.5 A in AC-4 duty (plugging, inching, reversing). The S0 frame keeps the width to 45 mm, so it fits tightly on a DIN rail alongside other SIRIUS components.
Mounting and panel integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022. Side-by-side mounting is permitted without derating up to the listed ambient range. The 85 mm height and 91 mm depth leave clearance for gland plates and wiring ducts in a standard 200 mm deep enclosure. Front protection is IP20 — safe against finger contact when the panel door is open. The terminal area itself is IP00, so live parts are exposed during wiring; the panel builder must respect clearance rules for pollution degree 3 (conductive dust or humidity).
Terminal and wiring detail
Main current circuit uses screw-type terminals. Accepts solid or stranded conductors: 2x (0.5…1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75…2.5 mm²), max 2x (0.75…4 mm²) for control wiring; for power wiring 2x (1…2.5 mm²), 2x (2.5…6 mm²), max 2x 10 mm². AWG equivalents are 2x (16…12), 2x (14…10), 1x 8 for the main contacts.
Coordination and protection
For Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor under short circuit) the required upstream fuse is gL/gG 35 A. For Type 1 coordination (contactor may be damaged but no fire or shock hazard) the fuse can be gL/gG 100 A. The 10 A AC-12 operating current rating covers resistive or lightly inductive loads on the main contacts.
