What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1026-1AL24-ZW97 is a size S0 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil, rated for switching motor loads up to 11 kW at 500 V and 690 V, and resistive loads up to 10 A (AC-12). Its AC-4 rating at 400 V is 15.5 A, covering the demanding inrush and plugging duty cycles of reversing or jogging applications. Mounting is via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022, and the 45 mm width allows side-by-side mounting without derating in a standard panel layout. The IP20 front protection keeps live parts behind the enclosure door.
Wiring and terminal data
Main current circuit terminals are screw-type, accepting solid conductors: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), and max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²). For stranded conductors, the range is 2x (1 to 2.5 mm²), 2x (2.5 to 6 mm²), and max 2x 10 mm². AWG equivalents for main contacts are 2x (16 to 12), 2x (14 to 10), and 1x 8.
Coordination and environment
For Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor under short circuit), a gL/gG fuse rated 35 A is required. For Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement), a 100 A gL/gG fuse is permitted. The contactor is rated for pollution degree 3 environments and operates from -25 °C to +60 °C, with a maximum operating altitude of 2 000 m.
