SIRIUS S0 Power Contactor, 11 kW AC-2 — Current Production
The 3RT1026-1AN20: Rated at 11 kW in AC-2 duty at 400 V, this contactor handles slip-ring motor loads where starting current is moderate. For AC-4 reversing or inching duty at 400 V, the thermal current rating drops to 15.5 A — a figure that governs the real-world service life under frequent jogging. The 24 VDC coil draws 10 A at rated voltage, with a dropout threshold below 18 V. Verify the control transformer and free-wheel diode polarity before energizing inductive loads downstream.
Mounting and Panel Integration
Fastens via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. The S0 footprint — 45 mm wide, 85 mm tall, 91 mm deep — fits standard panel layouts; side-by-side mounting is permitted without derating, which simplifies multi-contactor motor control centers. IP20 on the front face protects against finger contact; the terminal area is IP00, so the panel enclosure must provide the environmental seal. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, suitable for unheated industrial halls.
Short-Circuit Coordination and Wiring
For Type 2 coordination (no welding after fault), the required upstream fuse is gL/gG 35 A. Type 1 coordination (welding allowed but no fire risk) permits a 100 A gL/gG fuse. This lets the panel designer balance protection level against selectivity with downstream motor starters. Main circuit screw terminals accept 2x (1 to 2.5 mm²) solid/stranded, up to 2x 10 mm² max. Auxiliary control terminals take 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) solid, up to 2x 4 mm² max. AWG equivalents are 2x (16 to 12) for mains and 2x (20 to 16) for auxiliaries.
Compliance and Documentation
Substance prohibitance (RoHS) compliance date is 01.07.2006, indicating the design meets EU RoHS 1 requirements. The reference code per IEC 81346-2 is Q, used in schematic labeling for power switching devices. Pollution degree 3 rating means the contactor withstands conductive pollution in industrial environments — no additional conformal coating needed for typical panel conditions.
