What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RT1026-1AP00-ZW98 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the S0 frame size, designed for switching motor loads in control panels and industrial machinery. It carries three normally-open main contacts rated for 11 kW at 400 V in AC-2 duty (slip-ring motor starting) and 15.5 A at 400 V in AC-4 duty (plugging and inching). The contactor also handles 11 kW at both 500 V and 690 V, giving headroom for higher-voltage motor circuits.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022, so it drops into any standard panel without adapter plates. The 45 mm width and 85 mm height keep it compact for dense rail layouts. Side-by-side mounting is supported, which means no mandatory spacing between contactors on the same rail.
Termination and wiring
Main and auxiliary circuits use screw-type terminals. The main contacts accept solid or stranded wire: 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²). For AWG, that's 2x (16 to 12), 2x (14 to 10), or 1x 8. Auxiliary terminals take 2x (20 to 16), 2x (18 to 14), or 1x 12 AWG. These ranges cover common panel wire sizes without needing terminal reducers.
Protection and coordination
For type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor on a short circuit), the required upstream fuse is gL/gG 35 A. For type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after fault), the fuse can be gL/gG 100 A. The contactor has a degree of pollution 3 rating, meaning it's suitable for industrial environments with conductive or dry non-conductive pollution.
Environmental and compliance
Operates from -25 °C to +60 °C, covering most indoor industrial conditions. The front panel is IP20 (finger-safe), while the terminals are IP00 (no finger protection at the wiring point — panel builders should account for this in enclosure design). The part complies with RoHS substance prohibitance dated July 1, 2006, covering the standard EU RoHS scope.
