What the 3RT1026-1AP60 is and what it does
The Siemens 3RT1026-1AP60 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the S0 frame size, designed for switching three-phase motor loads in industrial control panels. Its headline rating is 11 kW at 400 V in AC-3 duty, which means it handles the high inrush of induction motors up to that power level without welding contacts. The 24 VDC coil draws 10 A at its rated voltage, so confirm your control transformer can support that inrush if multiple contactors pull in simultaneously.
Mounting and panel integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. The S0 footprint is 45 mm wide, 85 mm tall, and 91 mm deep — that 91 mm depth is the dimension to watch when sizing the enclosure depth or gland plate clearance. Side-by-side mounting is permitted with 6 mm spacing at the side, so you can pack multiple contactors on a rail without derating for heat buildup.
Wiring and terminal specs
Main current circuit uses screw-type terminals. Solid wire capacity is 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), or max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²). For stranded wire, it accepts 2x (1 to 2.5 mm²), 2x (2.5 to 6 mm²), or max 2x 10 mm². AWG equivalents are 2x (16 to 12), 2x (14 to 10), or 1x 8. The front face carries an IP20 touch-safe rating; the terminal area itself is IP00, so maintain safe clearance in the enclosure.
Coordination and protection
For Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor under short circuit), the required upstream fuse is gL/gG 35 A. For Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after a fault), the fuse can be gL/gG 100 A. The pollution degree is 3, meaning it's rated for industrial environments with conductive pollution — no conformal coating required for normal panel conditions.
