What this contactor is and where it fits
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1026-1AR60-ZW97 is a size S0 power contactor with screw-type terminals, designed for switching motor loads in control panels. It mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022 and occupies a 45 mm width on the rail — a standard footprint that fits alongside other SIRIUS components in a distributed I/O or motor starter row. Rated 11 kW at 400 V in AC-2 duty (slip-ring motor switching), it handles the moderate inrush and repetitive starting that wound-rotor motors demand. For AC-4 reversing or plugging duty the thermal current limit is 15.5 A at 400 V — the figure to size against if your application cycles direction under load.
Mounting and integration notes
Snap-on mounting onto a 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022. Side-by-side mounting is permitted, with a 6 mm clearance to adjacent devices on either side. The front face carries IP20 protection; the terminal area is IP00 — keep live parts behind a panel door or cover. Screw terminals accept 2x (0.5...1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75...2.5 mm²), or max. 2x (0.75...4 mm²) solid/stranded for the control circuit, and 2x (1...2.5 mm²), 2x (2.5...6 mm²), or max. 2x 10 mm² for the main current circuit. AWG equivalents are 2x (16...12), 2x (14...10), and 1x 8 for the mains.
Coordination and protection
For type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor on a short circuit) the required upstream fuse is gL/gG 35 A. For type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after fault) the fuse can be gL/gG 100 A. Pollution degree 3 applies — the contactor is rated for the conductive-dust and condensation environment typical of industrial panels.
