Siemens 3RT1026-1AR64 — SIRIUS S0 Power Contactor
The Siemens 3RT1026-1AR64 is a SIRIUS-branded power contactor in the S0 frame size, designed for switching motor loads in industrial control panels. It mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022 via screw or snap-on fastening, occupying a 45 mm wide footprint that allows side-by-side mounting without additional clearance. Rated for AC-2 duty at 400 V, it delivers 11 kW motor switching — the rating that governs its use for slip-ring motor starting and stopping. For reversing or inching applications (AC-4), the contactor is rated at 15.5 A at 400 V, a figure that drops significantly from the AC-3 or AC-2 capability and must be respected to avoid contact welding. The main circuit uses screw-type terminals accepting 2x (1 to 2.5 mm²) solid or 2x (2.5 to 6 mm²) stranded, up to 2x 10 mm² maximum. Two built-in auxiliary contacts (1 NO + 1 NC) handle control logic at 24 V (10 A), 230 V (6 A), or 400 V (3 A), covering typical PLC output and pilot-device interfacing.
Panel Fit and Integration
At 85 mm high and 140 mm deep, the S0 frame fits standard distribution board gutters and leaves room for wiring ducts above and below. The front face carries IP20 protection (finger-safe); the terminal area is IP00, so live parts are exposed during wiring — standard for panel-mounted contactors. Pollution degree 3 rating suits the conductive-dust and humidity conditions typical of factory-floor enclosures. Operating temperature spans -25 to +60 °C, adequate for most indoor industrial environments. Maximum altitude is 2 000 m without derating. The contactor's mechanical endurance is 10 million cycles typical, so it holds up in high-duty cycling applications like conveyor sorting or pump sequencing. For short-circuit protection, Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor) requires a gL/gG fuse rated at 35 A. Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement) allows a 100 A fuse. These values directly affect the upstream protective device selection in the panel schedule.
