The Siemens 3RT1026-1AV00-1AA0 is a SIRIUS power contactor in the size S0 frame, designed for switching motor loads in industrial control panels. It carries three main NO contacts and is rated for 11 kW at 400 V in AC-2 duty (slip-ring motors) and 15.5 A in AC-4 duty (plugging/inching). The 24 VDC coil draws its holding current from a standard control supply; verify the free-wheel diode polarity if the coil is driven by a PLC output.
Mounting and panel integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. The 45 mm width and 85 mm height fit standard S0 panel layouts. Side-by-side mounting is permitted with zero lateral clearance, so no gap is needed between contactors on the rail. The 91 mm depth leaves room for wiring ducts and terminal blocks in a 200 mm deep enclosure. Screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept 2x (1... 2.5 mm²) stranded or 2x (2.5... 6 mm²) solid, up to 2x 10 mm² maximum. Auxiliary terminals handle 2x (0.5... 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75... 2.5 mm²). The IP20 front-of-terminal protection means the contactor is safe for finger contact in a live panel; the terminal body itself is IP00, so it relies on the enclosure for environmental sealing.
Duty ratings and motor switching
The 11 kW rating at 400 V for AC-2 covers slip-ring motor starting where the contactor opens under load. For AC-3 squirrel-cage motors, the same 11 kW applies at 500 V and 690 V. The AC-4 rating of 15.5 A at 400 V is the limiting figure for reversing or inching duty — if your application requires frequent plugging, size the contactor on this number, not the AC-3 power. Auxiliary contact ratings cover the typical control-voltage range: 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V DC. The mechanical endurance of 10 million operations means the contactor outlasts most panel designs under normal switching frequencies.
Coordination and protection
For Type 2 coordination (no damage to the contactor under short circuit), use gL/gG fuses rated at 35 A. Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after fault) allows fuses up to 100 A. The rated insulation voltage is 400 V at 50 Hz, with an operating altitude limit of 2000 m and ambient temperature range of -25 to +60 °C. Pollution degree 3 means the contactor is suited for industrial environments with conductive dust or condensation.
