What this contactor is and where it fits
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1026-1BB46-1AA0-ZX95 is a size S0 power contactor with a 24 VDC coil, designed for switching motor loads and resistive loads in control panels. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, so it drops into a standard panel layout without adapters. Rated for AC-12 duty at 10 A maximum, this contactor handles resistive loads like heater banks or lighting. For motor switching, the AC-4 rating of 15.5 A at 400 V covers reversing or inching duty where the contacts break full motor current, while the AC-2 rating supports 11 kW at 400 V for slip-ring motor starting. The 11 kW rating repeats at 500 V and 690 V, so the same contactor works across 400 V, 500 V, and 690 V line supplies without derating the motor power.
Coil and control circuit
The 24 VDC coil draws 5.4 W during both closing and holding, so the control transformer or DC supply must budget that continuous load per contactor. No AC coil inrush to worry about, but the DC holding power is flat — it stays at 5.4 W as long as the coil is energized. Two auxiliary contacts are built in, rated for 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 6 A at 230 V, and 3 A at 400 V. That covers feedback to a PLC input or interlocking another contactor at typical control voltages.
Termination and wiring
Main circuit terminals are screw-type, accepting solid conductors from 2x 0.5 to 1.5 mm² up to max 2x 0.75 to 4 mm², and stranded from 2x 1 to 2.5 mm² up to max 2x 10 mm². AWG equivalents run from 2x 16–12 down to 1x 8 for the main contacts. That covers most panel wiring up to 10 mm² without lugging.
Mounting and clearances
The contactor measures 65 mm wide, 85 mm high, and 101 mm deep. Side-by-side mounting is allowed, so you can gang multiple contactors on the same DIN rail without spacing. The required side clearance is 6 mm to adjacent components or panel walls. Front face carries IP20 protection; the terminal area is IP00, so live parts are exposed behind the panel door.
Environmental and coordination
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, with pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive that becomes conductive). Maximum operating altitude is 2 000 m. For short-circuit coordination, Type 1 requires a 100 A gL/gG fuse; Type 2 requires a 35 A gL/gG fuse. The mechanical life is rated at 10 million operating cycles typical.
