What it is and what it does
The 3RT1026-1XB44-0LA2: The AC-3 motor switching rating is 11 kW at both 400 V and 690 V, so it handles standard 400 V three-phase motors up to that power level and can also be used on 690 V networks without derating the motor power. For heavy-duty jogging or inching duty (AC-4), the contactor is rated 15.5 A at 400 V. That figure governs the maximum current when the motor is started and stopped frequently under load, which is the more demanding thermal cycle than AC-3.
Integration and mounting
Mounts by screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022. The 45 mm width and 116 mm height fit standard panel layouts; depth is 150 mm including terminals. Side-by-side mounting is permitted, with 10 mm clearance required upwards, forwards, downwards, and at the sides for cooling and wiring access. Main circuit terminals accept 2x (1 to 2.5 mm²) or 2x (2.5 to 6 mm²) stranded, up to 2x 10 mm² maximum. The auxiliary contact block (2 instantaneous contacts) uses 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²) or 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²) solid, up to 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²).
Ratings and what they mean for selection
The 24 V DC coil draws 10 A at 24 V rated value, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, and 0.3 A at 220 V — these are the holding currents at those control voltages, useful for sizing the control transformer and power supply. Rated impulse withstand voltage of the main circuit is 6 kV, which means the contactor is designed for use in installations with overvoltage category III up to that level. Maximum operating altitude is 2 000 m without derating. Front protection is IP20 (finger-safe), while the terminal area is IP00 — so the terminals are not touch-protected and require enclosure or shrouding in the panel.
