What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1026-3AU60 is a size S0 power contactor with three normally open main contacts, designed for switching motor loads in industrial control panels. It mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022, fitting into a 45 mm wide slot — a standard panel footprint. The main current circuit uses screw-type terminals, accepting solid or stranded conductors up to 2x 10 mm² or 1x 8 AWG.
Key ratings and what they mean for your motor load
Rated at 11 kW at 400 V in AC-2 duty (slip-ring motors, moderate overloads) and 15.5 A in AC-4 duty (plugging, inching, reversing). These are the numbers that govern real motor switching — not a generic thermal current. For short-circuit protection, the contactor coordinates with a 35 A gL/gG fuse under Type 2 coordination (limited damage to the contactor) or a 100 A gL/gG fuse under Type 1 coordination (contactor may need replacement after a fault). The auxiliary contact block (not included) can be mounted on the front or side; side-by-side mounting is permitted with 6 mm spacing to adjacent devices. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, with a maximum operating altitude of 2 000 m. Pollution degree 3 means it's suited for industrial environments with conductive pollution.
