Duty ratings — what they mean for the panel
For AC-4 duty (plugging, inching, reversing), the contactor carries 29 A at 400 V — that is the current it can interrupt under the harshest switching conditions, so it governs the life expectancy in high-cycle reversing service. Maximum operating rate varies by duty: 1,200 cycles/hour under AC-1 (resistive), 1,000 under AC-3 (cage motor), and 250 under AC-4.
Termination and wiring
Main circuit terminals are screw-type, accepting solid conductors from 2x (0.5... 1.5 mm²) up to max 2x (0.75... 4 mm²) and stranded from 2x (0.75... 25 mm²). Minimum cross-section at 40 °C is 16 mm² — relevant if the panel runs warm and you are sizing the main power wiring to avoid terminal overheating.
Front-of-device protection is IP20 (finger-safe terminals); the terminal area itself is IP00 — so the panel enclosure must provide the environmental seal.
