Mounting and Integration
The 3RT1034-1AH24: Mounts via screw or snap-on onto a 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022. The 55 mm width and 112 mm height fit a standard DIN-rail footprint; the 164 mm depth accounts for the contactor body plus screw terminals. Side-by-side mounting is permitted, so multiple contactors can be ganged without spacing gaps — useful for grouped motor starters in a panel.
Termination and Wiring
Main current circuit uses screw-type terminals. Solid conductors: 2x (0.5…1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75…2.5 mm²), max. 2x (0.75…4 mm²). Stranded conductors: 2x (0.75…25 mm²). Solid or stranded: 2x (0.75…16 mm²). The terminal range covers control wiring up to motor power cables; the 25 mm² stranded capacity handles the full rated current for the 18.5 kW load.
Switching Performance and Life
Rated for 50/60 Hz operation with a voltage tolerance of 0.8…1.1 at 50 Hz and 0.85…1.1 at 60 Hz. Coil pick-up time is 7…20 ms; arcing time is 10…15 ms. Mechanical life is typical 10,000,000 operations. Maximum switching rates: 1,200 cycles/h at AC-1 (resistive), 1,000 cycles/h at AC-3 (motor), 750 cycles/h at AC-2, 250 cycles/h at AC-4 (plugging/inching). The AC-4 rate is the limiting factor for high-duty applications like reversing or jogging.
Environmental and Protection
Operating temperature range is -25…+60 °C; storage range is -55…+80 °C. Pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive pollution that becomes conductive due to condensation). Front protection is IP20 (finger-safe), terminal area is IP00 (no protection — requires enclosure). Not rated for washdown or outdoor use without a separate enclosure.
