SIRIUS S2 power contactor — 3RT1034-1AL00
The Siemens 3RT1034-1AL00 is a SIRIUS S2-size power contactor with screw-type terminals for the main current circuit. It mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022 using either screw fixing or snap-on, and can be mounted side-by-side without derating. Rated for motor loads at 18.5 kW at 500 V and 10 kW at 690 V in AC-3 duty, with an AC-4 current rating of 29 A at 400 V — the figure that governs reversing or plugging applications where the contactor breaks full-load current. The contactor envelope is 112 mm high by 55 mm wide by 115 mm deep, fitting standard panel layouts. Front-side protection is IP20; the terminal area is IP00, so live parts are exposed behind the panel door.
Duty-cycle and switching performance
Maximum switching rates vary by duty: 1,200 cycles/hour for AC-1 resistive loads, 1,000 cycles/hour for AC-3 motor starting, 750 cycles/hour for AC-2 slip-ring motors, and 250 cycles/hour for AC-4 reversing/inching. Arcing time is 10–15 ms; the contactor picks up in 7–20 ms at AC. Coil operating range is 0.8–1.1 × rated voltage at 50 Hz, covering typical supply dips. Rated control supply voltages are 50 Hz and 60 Hz.
Environmental and compliance
Operating temperature range is –25 to +60 °C; storage range is –55 to +80 °C. Pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive pollution that becomes conductive due to condensation). The contactor is RoHS-compliant per the substance prohibition date of May 1, 2012.

Main circuit terminals accept solid conductors: 2×(0.5–1.5 mm²), 2×(0.75–2.5 mm²), max 2×(0.75–4 mm²). Stranded conductors: 2×(0.75–25 mm²). Solid or stranded: 2×(0.75–16 mm²). Mechanical service life is 10 million operations typical.
