What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RT1034-1AR60-ZX95 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S2, designed for switching motor loads in control panels. It is rated for 15 kW at 400 V in AC-2 duty, which covers slip-ring motor starting and plugging applications, and 18.5 kW at 500 V in AC-3 for standard squirrel-cage motors. The coil operates on 50 Hz at 400 V or 60 Hz at 400 to 440 V, with an operating range of 0.8 to 1.1 times rated voltage at 50 Hz and 0.85 to 1.1 at 60 Hz.
Mounting and integration
Mounts via screw or snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. Dimensions: 55 mm wide, 112 mm high, 115 mm deep. Side-by-side mounting is permitted, which saves panel width when grouping multiple contactors. Main circuit connections use screw-type terminals; wire ranges accept solid conductors from 2x 0.5 to 4 mm² and stranded from 2x 0.75 to 25 mm².
Environmental and protection ratings
Rated for a pollution degree of 3, suitable for industrial environments with conductive or dry non-conductive pollution. Front face carries IP20 finger protection; terminals are IP00, so the contactor needs to be housed in a panel or enclosure with a higher overall IP rating. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, storage from -55 to +80 °C.
Switching performance and auxiliary ratings
Maximum mechanical life is 10 million operations. Rated for 1,200 operations per hour in AC-1, 750 in AC-2, 1,000 in AC-3, and 250 in AC-4. Auxiliary contacts are rated for 10 A at 24 V, 2 A at 60 V, 1 A at 110 V, 0.3 A at 220 V, 6 A at 230 V, and 3 A at 400 V. Arcing time is 10 to 15 ms; opening time at AC is 7 to 20 ms.
