SIRIUS S2 power contactor, 24 VDC coil — what the ratings mean for fit
The Siemens 3RT1034-1BB44-0AA2-ZX95 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S2, rated for a 24 V DC coil. Its AC-3 switching capacity at 400 V is 15 kW, which means it handles standard three-phase motor loads up to that power in a typical pump or conveyor application. The AC-4 rating at 400 V is 29 A — that's the reversing or plugging duty cycle, where the contactor breaks full-load current; if your application does frequent inching or reversing, this is the number to size against, not the AC-3 figure. The coil pulls 10 A at 24 V rated value, with a 0.8 A inrush (initial value). Dropout happens between 20 and 30 ms after coil removal; arcing time runs 10 to 15 ms. That's a fast break — useful for safety circuits that need quick isolation without waiting for a slow dropout.
Mounting and wiring — DIN-rail integration
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022. Side-by-side mounting is permitted. The main current circuit uses screw-type terminals. Front face is IP20 — protected against finger contact; the terminal area is IP00, so live parts are exposed when the cover is off. Pollution degree 3 means it's rated for conductive pollution (condensation, occasional water spray), typical in industrial control panels not in a sealed clean room.
