What it is and what it does
The Siemens SIRIUS 3RT1035-1AN60-1AA0 is a size S2 power contactor rated for motor switching up to 22 kW at 500 V in AC-3 duty, and 11.4 kW at 690 V. It also carries an AC-2 rating of 18.5 kW at 400 V, covering wound-rotor motor or slip-ring applications where the switching frequency is lower. The 55 mm width and 112 mm height fit a standard DIN-rail enclosure bay; depth is 115 mm including the arc chamber.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. Side-by-side mounting is allowed, so you can gang multiple contactors without a gap — useful for compact motor control centers. Main circuit terminals are screw-type, accepting solid conductors up to 2x 4 mm² or stranded up to 2x 25 mm². The front face carries an IP20 rating; the terminal area is IP00, so live parts are exposed at the wiring point — standard for this class.
Environmental and operating limits
Rated for pollution degree 3, so it's suitable for industrial environments with conductive dust or occasional condensation. Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. The contactor is rated for 50/60 Hz coils with a control voltage tolerance of 0.8 to 1.1 times rated at 50 Hz, and 0.85 to 1.1 at 60 Hz. Mechanical life is typical 10 million operations.
