What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RT1035-1AP00-ZX95 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S2, designed for switching motor loads in industrial control panels. It mounts on 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022, with screw-type terminals for the main circuit. Rated for AC-2 duty at 18.5 kW at 400 V, it handles slip-ring motor starting and plugging without derating. The AC-4 rating at 400 V is 35 A — that covers inching and reversing cycles where the contactor makes and breaks stalled-rotor current. At 500 V it delivers 22 kW; at 690 V it delivers 11.4 kW. The operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C, and pollution degree 3 means it tolerates conductive dust in typical cabinet environments.
Mounting and wiring
Footprint is 55 mm wide, 112 mm tall, 115 mm deep. Screw and snap-on mounting onto 35 mm standard mounting rail per DIN EN 50022. Side-by-side mounting is permitted — no derating gap needed for most loads. Main circuit terminals accept solid conductors 2x (0.5 to 1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75 to 2.5 mm²), max 2x (0.75 to 4 mm²). Stranded conductors up to 2x (0.75 to 25 mm²). Minimum permissible cross-section at 40 °C is 16 mm².
