What it is and where it lands
The Siemens 3RT1035-1AV60 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S2, designed for switching motor loads in industrial control panels. It mounts on a 35 mm DIN rail per DIN EN 50022, using either screw fixing or snap-on, and accepts side-by-side mounting for dense panel layouts.
Motor-duty ratings
At 400 V, this contactor is rated for 18.5 kW in AC-2 duty (slip-ring motors, moderate switching frequency) and 35 A in AC-4 duty (plugging, inching, reversing). The AC-4 rating is the one that governs for severe switching applications — the contactor must handle the full locked-rotor current each time. At 500 V it delivers 22 kW, and at 690 V it delivers 11.4 kW.
Termination and wiring
Main current circuit uses screw-type terminals. Solid wire acceptance: 2x (0.5–1.5 mm²), 2x (0.75–2.5 mm²), max 2x (0.75–4 mm²). Stranded: 2x (0.75–25 mm²). The minimum permissible cross-section at 40 °C is 16 mm². Auxiliary circuits accept 2x (0.75–16 mm²) solid or stranded.
Mechanical endurance and switching frequency
Mechanical life typical 10,000,000 operations. Maximum switching frequency: 1,200 cycles/hour at AC-1, 600 at AC-2, 1,000 at AC-3, 300 at AC-4. Arcing time 10–15 ms; pick-up/drop-out time at AC 7–20 ms.
