What it is and what it does
The Siemens 3RT1035-3AV00 is a SIRIUS power contactor in size S2, designed for switching motor loads in industrial control panels. It is rated for 22 kW at 500 V in AC-3 duty (standard motor starting) and 18.5 kW at 400 V in AC-2 duty (slip-ring motor starting or reversing). For heavy inching or plugging, the AC-4 rating is 35 A at 400 V.
Mounting and wiring
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto a 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. Side-by-side mounting is permitted, so you can pack multiple contactors in a row without a gap. The screw-type terminals on the main circuit accept solid conductors from 0.25 to 2.5 mm² (two per clamp) and stranded from 0.75 to 25 mm² (two per clamp). At 40 °C the minimum permissible cross-section is 16 mm² for the main circuit.
Environmental and protection
Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. Pollution degree 3 (conductive pollution or dry non-conductive pollution that becomes conductive due to condensation). The front of the contactor is IP20; the terminals are IP00 (no finger-safe protection at the wiring point).
