SIRIUS S2 Power Contactor — 18.5 kW AC-2, 35 A AC-4
The Siemens 3RT1035-3XP00-0GA0 is a SIRIUS S2-frame power contactor rated for 18.5 kW at 400 V in AC-2 duty (slip-ring motor starting) and 35 A in AC-4 duty (plugging/inching). It carries a 22 kW rating at 500 V and 11.4 kW at 690 V, giving you headroom for higher-voltage motor circuits within the same frame. The coil is rated for 230 V at 50 Hz and also accepts 60 Hz — common for dual-frequency plants. Auxiliary contacts handle 10 A at 24 V, 6 A at 230 V, and 3 A at 400 V, covering typical control-circuit loads. Mechanical life is 10 million operations typical. Maximum switching rates are 1,200 ops/h in AC-1, 1,000 ops/h in AC-3, and 300 ops/h in AC-4 — the AC-4 figure is the one to watch for high-duty-cycle reversing or jogging applications.
Mounting & Wiring — DIN Rail, Screw Terminals, Side-by-Side
Mounts via screw and snap-on onto 35 mm DIN rail per EN 50022. The S2 frame measures 55 mm wide, 142 mm high, 130 mm deep — fits standard panel layouts. Side-by-side mounting is supported, so you can gang multiple contactors without spacing. Main current circuit uses screw-type terminals. Accepts 2x solid conductors from 0.25 to 2.5 mm² and 2x stranded from 0.75 to 25 mm², with an alternative stranded range of 2x 0.75 to 16 mm². That covers everything from signal-level control wires to motor power cables. Front face is IP20; terminal area is IP00. Pollution degree 3 means it's suitable for industrial environments with conductive dust or occasional condensation — standard for a panel-mounted contactor.

Operating temperature range is -25 to +60 °C; storage range is -55 to +80 °C. The storage spec governs handling and shipping, not running — the contactor can sit in a cold warehouse and still commission fine. Withstands 15 g for 5 ms and 8 g for 10 ms under AC shock. DC dropout time is 20 to 25 ms; arcing time is 10 to 15 ms. The operating factor at 50 Hz is 0.8 to 1.1 — that's the ratio of on-time to cycle time, so continuous duty is within range.
